Fiddly to use efficiently... there should be a shortlist to say the job has been allocated to stop further trade queries which can get confusing very quickly...
Its irritating to be having repeated conversations about the job having been completed
Moreover the trades must be irritated by empty pursuit....
That said its better than both checkatrade and trustatrader...ergonomically
Trades should be compelled to use the app for key data so it's easy to review.

Have found excellent tradesmen 3 times so far and am in the process of organising another job via them. I love the fact you can compare the people & check any websites & profiles before you contact anyone. The traders I have used so far have all been brilliant. The process is fast and easy and I will continue to use it. It has been far better than choosing from a list of unknown names on the web or from a local directory as you get more information.
My Builder sent several interested company’s to quote for works to steps and ramps in my garden. We chose Quaid Herbert who gave a detailed quote which was also the final invoice. Quaid was very knowledgeable and a skilled operative and standard of work was first class. He made sure we were happy with the work and we would have no hesitation in recommending him
I have used MyBuilder on a number of occasions when the job is beyond my DiY skills or needs a certified professional.
Have always had a good response and my latest posting also had a good result. It needed a gas safe tradesman. The price and finished job were more than satisfactory.

'My Builder': Cowboy Roofer-Builder Conman. I hired a 'gift of the gab' 'roofer'…
I hired a 'gift of the gab' 'roofer' through My Builder to re-roof a dormer & a-fix the apex with a UPVC cover, and I had trouble from day 1. It began with finding 2 teenagers - in my judgement, teen school boys - armed with hammers, tools walking all over my roof and throwing down missiles onto the garden below: wood and concrete, smashing the guttering beneath. The fact that one slip and there was nothing to stop their fall seemed immaterial to their boss. The builder was sat in his van while this went ahead. I couldn't understand why sound pine wood, four-foot lengths of wide thick timber had been thrown down (not once did this ''roofer'' warn us of what was to come, any children playing outside, pets, could have been hit in the head - but the builder-roofer couldnt care less: (only now has it been shown to me by another [pro] builder that these internal/side timbers, covered in 10 inch nails were part of the structural integrity of the dormer. I had NOT asked for the dormer sides/internal timber to be removed. It WAS part of the whole of the dormers strength to hold up all those tiles]
This builder-roofer in a word is a fake.
At the time I carried on trusting him, going back was too late, not least the loss of £. When he told me he completed the work and wanted a cheque for X thousand pounds, I went up on the scaffolding to find he hadnt finished the work at all; trowelled mortar only had the foundation later on the ridge tiles; the Roman tiles did not meet/lock together; guttering he put in fell out of the brackets into my hands and were totally a different colour to that which his boys ripped out.
And of course the smashed main guttering [due to his boys] he didnt even mention.
Getting to put anything of a reasonable standard was an uphill struggle - Oh a great blagger, but his attitude stank & he became disrespecable, warning me not to lift the flashing (beneath was tile/s someone, or boy, had crushed); he also botched down lead flashing onto roof tiles with mastic- no true tradesman does that. Needless to say the roof still leaked. Sadly I had given him the majority of the £ by that time; 'Cowboy' refuses to show evidence that he has insurance [for £millions he had claimed, against accident, fire, etc]. Let's see what Trading Standards say. They should have access to that data.
I am now left with bringing in a structural engineer - for peace of mind to find out if this dormer could be in danger of collapse. I have no doubt he has made it weaker, and off course theres now less insulation against head loss & greater noise levels from traffic Those timbers had been in the building since the day the house was built in the late 1940's - not a single sign of rot or depreciation of any kind. His gormless act ripping them out was nothing short of wanton vandalism. Dont expect My Builder to do anything - so far they've done zero - their support is just lip service. Just as the BBC expose of My Builder showed. I have now got months of anxiety & loss of sleep ahead due to trusting ''My Builder'' - an organisation who make NO checks on the tradesmen who they vouch for at all.
But what about this trades mans 'good' reviews? As the BBC pointed out, this can easily be overcome by the con artists swamping the site with bogus 'good' reviews, bad reviews thus minimised
So long as MB gets its promotional money...I take it they take fees?
This con artist - oh yes, often v charming, has not been removed from its lists to my knowledge. This nightmare began in late April-early May 2025 & is on-going.

This is a fraudulent organisation
This is a fraudulent organisation - do not use the site should be taken down - I’ve been scammed out of a few hundred pounds by fraudulent disguising as trades - which they were not they are criminals operating on this site who are not vetted I have reported to the authorities and Police who are investigating as I speak

This website is a scam for tradesmen
This website is a scam for tradesmen, it’s basically gambling your money but house always wins.
I have been a member best part of two years and I have only got one job from MyBuilder and the client didn’t even pay. ( you can check my 100% 5 star reviews on google to see it wasn’t to blame for my work)
Then a customer on my builder chooses to accept me for a job 13 days after bidding for it and had no intentions of seeing them as who in their right mind waits 13 days for there calendar to fill up. And my builder refused on both occasions to ignore my complaints with generic answers.
Waste of time and money, 99% of all customers are looking for cheap labour
You will also see their good reviews are mainly from people looking to hire not & not from tradesmen

A useless agency which offers no guarantees or solutions
Not effective. Purports to steer public towards professional and reliable tradespeople but just an advertising agency for those prepared to pay a fee. After supplying written evidence to Mybuilder, it accepted my complaint against "Weplumbuk" who did not finish the job, left leaks and then failed to respond to messages. Mybuilder refused to publish my review as I had already posted a negative review on another tradesman who failed to turn up at all. They said they would file my complaint "internally" which is unhelpful given that Weplumbuk is still on their site

Good tradesmen finder
I was a bit confused because I first went through a Google search engine & my builder came up asking me to choose 10 company's, I did this and then it said to download the app, so I did and went through the same process again, which I believe led to me contacting some of the company's twice.
One such company came to give me a quote which I accepted but when I came to give a review it wasn't in the app? So I eventually found them on the 1st Google search and gave them a review, but now my builder are constantly asking me to give feedback and which company I used. But said company isn't coming up in the app,so I'm totally confused. But if I use them in future because it was good I would definitely not choose as many company's to start with I had far too many phone calls following the post. But overall my builder was good & I would use them again .

Very useful site to find good tradesmen…
Very useful site to find good tradesmen willing to do jobs that are not immediately local to them. Having had local tradesmen not bother to turn up after months of saying they would, it was refreshing to find an electrician and a roofer who quoted reasonably, turned up when they said, and completed the jobs satisfactorily. The MyBuilder site allows you to see reviews and message directly. You still need to obtain a few quotes for a job as there are always one or two chancers that quote high, eg £3,300 for a job someone else quoted £640 for! But you just need to use a bit of common sense and intuition, and so far I've been lucky with my choices.

Vinnie did a bang up job
Vinnie did a bang up job. Ripped out 2 layers of "bad" flooring, and replaced it seamlessly. No mess, no fuss, and in a couple of hours my new floor was done. I can highly recommend VW flooring.
